Future Seasons & Green Initiative
Future Seasons & Green Initiative
We intend to launch a Green Initiative with our community partners beginning in the 27/28 season, if not sooner. Until then, there are no op-outs or refunds. The goal is to appropriately supply every athlete with the mandatory team uniform and eliminate waste by the 27/28 season. Until then, expect pricing to stay similar if not the same for year one and two. Team Palisases Tahoe/Palisades Tahoe executes the uniform program at zero profit, all savings are passed on in the form of Uniform Program Pricing and to extend the uniform piece at cost to the athlete.
Why Uniforms Matter to Team Palisades Tahoe / Alpine
Wearing the official Team gear isn’t just about looking sharp—it’s about building a culture of excellence and belonging. Here’s why it counts:
- Team Identity & Pride - Uniforms foster a sense of belonging and pride in representing Team Palisades Tahoe.
- Visibility & Recognition - Athletes are easily identifiable on the mountain and at events, helping coaches and teammates stay connected and safe.
- Safety - Consistent apparel helps staff identify athletes more effectively and quicker, especially in busy areas.
- Professionalism & Respect - Uniforms reflect discipline and respect for the sport, the coaches, and fellow athletes.
- Equity & Inclusion - A unified look reduces social pressure around gear, keeping the focus on performance and teamwork.
FAQs
FAQs
Where can I find out more information about the jacket?
Detailed information can be found on Akova's website.
Does this include pants or other uniform pieces?
No. This program includes only the Akova Elevated Jacket. However, you may purchase approved Akova uniform pieces at the Team Palisades Tahoe Akova Team Store.
Is Navy the same as black?
No. Team color is Midnight Blue (Navy) - not black.
What if my athlete changes programs mid‑season?
Uniform color should follow the new program; distribution timing follows the matrix and grace rules.
How should I determine the correct jacket size for my athlete?
Use Akova’s size chart; if still unsure, contact support before ordering.
Lost or damaged jacket?
Replacement can be purchased directly through Akova (subject to stock; fees apply).
Can I buy an extra jacket?
Extras are allowed only after all eligible athletes are fulfilled (inventory permitting).
Is there a gear exchange?
A Gear Exchange link can be found here. The exchange platform is new to Team and we expect volume to increase significantly as we approach the season.
What if my athlete is sponsored?
The Team Palisades Tahoe uniform is required during participation in all Teams activities including training, events and competition. If an athlete has a sponsorship or endorsement that requires the use of an alternative uniform jacket, the athlete (athletes family) must formally request an exception in writing disclosing the contractual obligation. While an exception may not be granted, alternatives in the form of heat transfers or other post-production methods may be approved. ALL alternative displays including sponsors must be approved by Team Palisades Tahoe prior placement on a Team uniform. For parameters and guidance please review the Team Agreement included in your completed registration process.
Does my discount apply to the uniform program fee?
No. Discounts, scholarships, or program credits do not apply to the uniform program fee. The uniform is distributed by a 3rd party partner, Akova. The savings and actual cost is a Team Palisades Tahoe direct pass-through of the jacket itself.
When will I receive my uniform?
If you've place your order with Akova by November 1, jackets are shipped directly to you — typically shipped within 2–3 business days. Other supplemental items (pants, mid-layers, etc.), and orders placed later than November 1 will be shipped as communicated by Akova during the checkout process.
